Dr. Phil (Philadelphio) Jaramillo, beloved husband of Kathy Jaramillo and cherished Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend, went home to be with the Lord July 30, 2009 in Salinas, CA. He was born August 24, 1941 in Monero, NM to Elifar and Gregorita and his step-father was Marcelino Samora. He graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, UT. Phil spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy, serving 2 of those years aboard the USS Ranger Aircraft Carrier. He married Mary Katherine Martinez on Nov. 10, 1962. He was currently a professor at the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio of Monterey teaching spanish. He was also a Lecturer in the school of World languages and culture at the CA State University of Monterey Bay. Previous to that, he served as Head of the Foreign Languages Dept. at Adams State College. He loved God, family and friends. His hobbies were books about world history, running, western and war movies. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathy; children Katrina (John) Jones , Tony Jaramillo, Carissa (Chris) Montour and Diedra Howard; grandchildren Danny, Ariel and Dominick Calvo, Jacob, Jasmine and Jaida Montour, Robbie and Alicen Jones, Taylor and Zosia Howard; brothers and sisters Jim (Ann) Jaramillo, Max (Dorthy) Jaramillo, Elsie (Frank) Nickerson, Susie (Gilbert) Montoya, May Cordova, Martha (Wes) Stuki, Virginia (Gilbert) Armenta, Orlando (Priscilla) Samora, Eli (Beatriz) Samora and Adelida (Lorenzo) DeYapp. Preceded in death by his father Eifar and mother Gregorita; step-father Marcelino Samora and sister Nancy Samora Morales. Viewing on 8/9/09 from 4-6pm at Newcomer West Metro Chapel. Rosary and Mass 8/10/09 at 9am, St. Cajetans Church, 299 S. Raleigh St. . Interment follows at Ft.
