Willem Lodder, 83, of Lakewood Colorado died on Friday December 11, 2020 from complications related to Parkinson's. He was born on December 23, 1936, to the late Ties Siebolt Lodder and Elsje Johanna Catharine Fransen in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Willem was an officer in the Dutch Air Force. He graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a Masters in both Mathematics and Physics and a Doctorate in Geology. Willem also earned an MBA from Harvard University. He was married to Jantine Antoinette Kock for 57 years living in Amsterdam, Vancouver, Tucson, Golden and Lakewood.

Willem started his career as an Associate Professor at the University of Amsterdam. He was then hired by Amax Exploration to be a Field Geologist. During his career, Willem travelled all over the world identifying potential precious metal and mineral deposits. He was a well-respected leader and mentor and held many executive roles throughout his career. Willem retired as President of Amax Exploration.

In his retirement, Willem and Jantine spent every spring and fall in the Netherlands enjoying the beautiful forests and fine Dutch food. He was an avid reader and classical pianist and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Willem is survived by his wife Jantine A. Lodder and three children: Petra J. Lodder of Eden Prairie, MN; Waldo Lodder of Denver, CO; Tymon S. Lodder of Arvada, CO. He is also survived by four grandchildren (Gavin, Owen, Gwendolyn, Garrett).
