Eddie A. Hanns

Eddie A. Hanns, 93, of Denver, passed away December 31, 2019.

He was born October 21, 1926 in Gary, Indiana, the son of John and Beatrice (Brown) Hanns. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1944. He also attended Community College of Aurora.

Eddie honorably served in the US Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired at the rank of SPC 6 after over 20 years of service to his country. Then he proudly worked for the U.S. Postal service until he retired.

On August 22, 1953, he married Leona Honey in Garry, Indiana and have celebrated 66yrs of marriage.

Eddie loved his family, loved to dress to impress. He also enjoyed watching sports (Broncos) of all kinds and various news and talks about current events.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Leona Hanns; daughter, Elaine D. Allen; grandchild, Danielle (Dee Dee) Griffin; step-son, Craigston Honey; Erika Parker-Honey and great-grandchild Jordan Rollie; three nephews, Freddie Hanns, Gerald Hanns and John E. "DJ" Hanns and a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by Mother, Beatrice Hanns; father John Hanns; two sisters, Lois and Helen Hanns and nephew, Darnell Hanns.
