Edna T. Le Lievre

Edna LeLievre, 90, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away on February 19, 2025. She was born on February 6, 1935, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Mark and Kikuko Saito. Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, who passed away in June of 2021.

Edna’s life was a remarkable journey of ambition, love, and service. She attended Sacred Hearts Convent from Kindergarten through 9th grade and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1952. Edna then pursued higher education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology in 1956.

In October 1955, Edna joined the Army Reserves as a Second Lieutenant, where she was one of only two women in a class of 30 recruits. She graduated 10th overall in her class, a testament to her intelligence, dedication, and perseverance. Edna honorably served her country until her discharge in 1959.

After her service, Edna enjoyed life in Indianapolis, Indiana, but when her mother asked her to return home to Hawaii, Edna made the decision to move back. It was there that she met Frank, and as they say, it must have been love at first sight. The couple married in June 1961, just three months after meeting. Their love story was one of deep connection and devotion, a foundation that would support them throughout their years together.

Edna and Frank shared a beautiful life together, raising two children, Lawrence (Ann) and Lisa (Tim), and welcoming their cherished granddaughter, Alexandra. Edna was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, always placing her family at the center of her life. Her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In her later years, Edna found great joy in spending time with her family, creating beautiful work of art, and enjoying the great outdoors. She loved spending time in the mountains!

Services will be held to celebrate Edna’s life at Newcomer West Funeral Home on Monday, March 3rd, at 11:00 am, with a reception immediately following the service.
