Edward Joseph "Ed" Chol Jr., 92, of Arvada, passed away April 2, 2018.
He was born March 31, 1926 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Edward and Mildred (Heubersberger) Chol.
Ed attended North High School until World War II broke out. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer Third Class in February 1955. Following his time in the Navy, Ed returned to Colorado and earned his GED. He then graduated from the Art Institute of Denver with a degree in Graphic and Illustrative Art.
On June 29, 1962, he married Phyllis Otterson in Denver.
Ed worked for 32 years as a Commercial Artist for the Yellow Pages for Mountain Bell/ USWEST and then 7 additional years contracting for Mountain Bell/ USWEST. After his retirement, he began his second career in Miniatures.
Ed was a member of Toastmasters International and the Miniatures, Dolls & Toys Museum.
Ed was a world-renowned artist, having been awarded a Fellowship from the International Guild of Miniature Artisans.
Ed's passion was art and enjoyed sculpting and painting. He also enjoyed hiking with Phyllis.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis Chol; his son, Johnathan (Mary) Chol; a brother, Robert Chol; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by Father, Edward J. Chol, Sr.; Mother, Mildred Chol and a sister Odile.
