Edward Smith Scott died peacefully at home of natural causes the morning of April 28, 2020 at the age of 91 years.
He was born on August 4, 1928 in Denver, Colorado to Jesse Carl Smith and Iola Verne Steveson Smith.
Ed was a dedicated Christian. He was involved in many church activities such as Committee Chairman, President, Board of Directors, Lutheran High School Board and President, Synod Board and much other church work.
Ed attended Englewood High School and the University of Washington. Then married a local girl and they reared six children.
Ed's primary career was in radio and television broadcasting that began in 1945. He also had a Denver TV show for nine years called "Sheriff Scotty". He also owned three radio stations.
Ed did 13 years of civic activities which included Englewood Councilman and Mayor, Arapahoe County Commissioner, Colorado State Senator and candidate for Congress.
On July 19, 1992 he married widowed Agnes E. Nolde of Littleton, Colorado at Zion Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Agnes, his six children, Christopher Scott, Wendy (Lanser), Cynthia (Bier), Reverend Bradford Scott, Rebecca (Wilson) and Jonathan Scott; step-daughters Rebecca Nolde-Hurlbert and Grace Ann Nolde-Lopez, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Iola and Jesse Smith, his brother William and one grandchild.

Private funeral services will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with interment to follow at Golden Cemetery.
