Edwin Paul Newcomer of Cortez, Colorado died of colon cancer, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheatridge, Colorado.
Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Ted and Lora Newcomer, Paul and his family lived and traveled many places across the United States and internationally. An avid naturalist, outdoorsman, and retired special education teacher, Paul was 56 when he passed.
Paul taught special education in the Four Corners area of New Mexico.
He is survived by his sons that he adored, Ted and Parker, as well as his father and sisters, Lora, Kim and Sharon and their families.
An outdoor memorial service will be held this summer.
A true friend to many and beloved by his family, Paul will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Open School in Cortez, Colorado, a public charter high school which features wonderful character education and expeditionary learning programs. https://southwestopenschool.org
