Eldon Bruce Hawkins (1949-2023)

Eldon Bruce Hawkins, 74, passed away on November 4, 2023 at his home in Aurora, CO, surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband to Deborah Ann Hawkins and devoted father and grandfather. Eldon and Deborah met at a Sadie Hawkins dance where they instantly formed a connection and became high school sweethearts. That connection grew into a 55-year marriage filled with love and happiness.

Eldon was born on March 10, 1949 in Alamosa, Colorado and was raised in Monte Vista, Colorado. After attending Monte Vista High School, he married Deborah in 1968, and moved to Aurora, CO in 1969. He began working at Harvey Bird and Animal, where he became a Veterinarian Technician, and discovered his passion for caring for animals. He retired from Colorado Veterinary Specialists after 47 years of being a Veterinarian Technician.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he was a Godly man. He enjoyed being with family, traveling, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his faith, dedication to family, patience, kindness and love for animals.

He is survived by the love of his life Deborah Hawkins; his children: Ray (Kristy) Hawkins, Nancy Hawkins, Bryon (Stacy) Hawkins, Mark (Maggie) Hawkins, Jeremy (Lauren) Hawkins, Andrew (Nicole) Hawkins and 11 grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Gary (Diane), Ruth, JoMarie, Kenneth (Peggy), Sandra (Tommy) and Michael (Anne). He is preceded in death by his Mom and Dad (Helen and Walter).
The funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints on November 17, 2023 with interment at Fort Lupton Cemetery.
