Eleanor June Kimrey

Eleanor June Kimrey, 91 of Aurora, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 7, 2025. She is survived by 4 children Terri Kimrey, Debbie Menze (Husband Michael), Karla Kimrey (Partner Kim) and Michael Kimrey (Wife Jan); 6 grandchildren Kenneth, Katherine, Kristina, Shaun, Landry and Nathan; two great grandchildren Eva and Caleb; and her younger brother Larry Ring.

June Kimrey was born June 1, 1933, in a farmhouse near Lyman Nebraska, to parents Jacob and Eva Ring. The family soon acquired their own farm in southeast Wyoming, where she was raised and attended school with her two brothers. After graduating from high school, she came to Denver at the age of 19, to attend the “Central Business College”. There she received her diploma for Bookkeeping, Secretarial and Office Machines, in November of 1952. While in school she met her future husband Ken, and they were soon married on June 6th, 1952.

June began attending Hope Lutheran Church in 1954. There she taught second grade Sunday School from 1966 until 1998, and her students were always Mary and Joseph and the glorious angels at the Christmas Eve Service. She was joined the Ladies Guild in 1960 and as President of the Guild she was very active in numerous bake sales, making quilts for the less fortunate, and doing whatever her church needed. 

June and Ken had a wonderful life together and were able to travel to Europe and Asia in the 1970’s and 80’s through Ken’s employer. June was an independent person and had her own part-time job in the 1990’s for five years assisting an accounting office, so she could have her own money to spend the way she wanted. One of her many loves was her flower garden in both the front and back yard.

June was a very loving soul who loved to be loved and loved to love her church, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous devoted friends.
