Eleanor Louise Lambert

February 17, 1941 — June 30, 2021

Eleanor Louise "Lou" Lambert was born on 2/17/1941 to Velma (Holscher) and Eugene Haight in Denver, Colorado. She was baptized in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit at Grace Lutheran Church in Denver on April 13, 1941. She was confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church on May 8, 1955, in the first confirmation class after the church was established.
Louise graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1960, then went to beauty school. She was a practicing beautician until 1963. She worked as a cook at the Hope Lutheran School and also worked at Cunningham Elementary (now Highline Elementary School) as a teacher assistant. She also worked for Hope Lutheran Church as the janitor for 10 years. Although she had several jobs in her life, her primary job was homemaker. Family was everything to her and always came first. She helped watch her grandkids for years.
Louise met her husband, Larry, of 59 years in 1959, when he moved in with his aunt next door to Lou. They dated off and on while Larry was at school in Sterling. They married on June 3, 1962 at Hope Lutheran Church. Their first son, David, was born in 1963. Their son Don and daughter Deanna were soon to follow.
Her hobbies included working in her yard and garden. She loved her koi pond that Larry made for her. She was an avid football fan all her life and had the privilege of working for the Broncos for a short time. Another hobby she had was inspecting Legend cars, which took her and Larry all over the United States. They spent many days at the track watching the racing.
She was a dedicated volunteer at Hope Lutheran Church. Early on she sang in the choir with her mom. Lou was the president of the Ladies Guild, she served on the Hospitality Committee and coordinated funeral meals. She made the baptism banners. Lou also helped with odd jobs around the church and was always willing to help in any capacity needed.
Louise passed during surgery on a tumor in her heart on June 30, 2021. She is survived by her husband Larry Lambert; daughter Deanna Duncan; son Don Lambert; grandkids Brittany (husband Zach) Moskal, and Jason (wife Alex) Duncan; great-grandkids Kyler, Danni, Kylee, Kinley, and Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents Velma and Eugene Haight, her son David Lambert, and her brother Bob (wife Virgina) Haight.
Louise died in the Lord on June 30, 2021 having attained the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 13 days.
