Elgie Lee Garron was born on July 16, 1929. The only child of Cleo Viola Garron and Levi Garron of Oklahoma. The family relocated to Hayward, California in 1930. Elgie graduated high school in Northern California. On May 18, 1945, Elgie Garron and Lewis Williams brought into the world their only child, a beautiful daughter, Venita.
While living in California, she worked at Hunts Cannery and at a local school cafeteria as a lead cook. This is where her love for cooking began. Elgie eventually relocated to Denver, Colorado and started working for Martin Marietta. This is where she met her husband O.C. Locke.
Elgie later started working for Fort Logan as an Alcoholism Counselor and retired on August 28, 1987. Elgie and O.C's love for travel began shortly after which included destinations such as Rome, Mexico, Hawaii, Bahamas, several cruises and road trips with family. Elgie began swimming at the recreation center and developed very close friendships which lasted more than 40 years.
Elgie was proceeded in death by Cleo Cannon, her mother; Levi Garron, her father; Venita Norman, her daughter; O. C. Locke, her husband; survived by 3 grandchildren, Dana Logan-Walker, Tammy Manning, Derrek DeVan Sr.; 7 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; cousin Martha Mixson and a host of family and friends.

With the passion you showed your children, your family, your friends; with the passion you showed your job, with your enjoyment of swimming, with traveling and everything you did. Enjoy your time in Glory, you have now received your reward. We know we'll see you and grandpa and mom again.
