Fester, Elinore Jean
Our beloved Elinore, with her family by her side, went home to our Lord on Monday, March 26, 2007. Elinore was born in Denver on August 29, 1935 and was the third of eight children. She grew up in Denver and attended Eagleton Elementary, Lake Junior High and West High School, graduating in 1953. She married her sweetheart Dale Fester just two weeks after graduation and had the incredible blessing of being married to Dale for 53 ½ years. Elinore was the loving mother of four children and had 16 wonderful grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her husband Dale; her children, Bob (Nikki) Fester living in Denver, Laurie Johnson living in Mont Clare, Pennsylvania, Terri (Neal) Tracy living in Littleton and David (Paula) Fester living in Redmond, Washington; her brothers and sisters, Laurence Miller (Chatsworth, CA), Donald Miller (Lakewood), Wendel Miller (Lakewood), Elmer Miller (Thornton), Janice Alexander (Littleton), Willi Davis (Littleton), and Roger Miller (Littleton).
Elinore was known by all her friends and family as the loving encourager. Everywhere Elinore went she gave her dear words of encouragement, helping lift the spirits of children, teens, adults and seniors. While she suffered for many years with her health, one would never know it as she always turned the focus of the conversation back to the person she was talking with, to ask how they were doing, to encourage them and to tell them how proud she was of them. She had a gentle heart and spirit and she radiated with love and compassion for others. She was deeply involved with the church her whole life, teaching Sunday school and vacation Bible school to first and second graders for over 20 years at Grace Baptist Church in Denver. She was a Deaconess in the church and also served on numerous committees including Building, Greeting, Holiday Dinner and women's service groups. She was always on the go, cooking wonderful meals and writing uplifting cards for any person in need.
Elinore and Dale also loved to travel. Together they traveled around the world visiting over 21 countries in 28 trips to Europe, Asia and beyond. But above all, her most treasured times were when she was surrounded by her family in her home. She taught all of us the importance of family and how essential love is to keep us together. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
A viewing will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, March 29th at Newcomer Family West Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 10am on Friday, March 30th at Red Rocks Fellowship Church at 11195 West Belleview, followed by the graveside service at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Red Rocks Fellowship.
