Elizabeth Madalynn Foster better known as Betty Cassino Obituary 12-25-2020
Elizabeth Madalynn Foster, better known as Betty, was born on June 20,1925 to Alonzo Foster and Elizabeth Foster in Denver, CO.
As a young woman, she was a gymnast and dancer as well as a musician. She played piano, clarinet, and saxophone in an all-girl band during the war. Upon graduation from South High School in 1943, she and her mother found a way to support the war effort as Rosie Riveters at Hill AFB in Utah where they cleaned, maintained, and repaired B-17's, B-24's and B-25 bombers. This job eventually led her to find the love of her life in 1944 at a dance at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, CO. MSgt. Julian Robert Cassino was an airman in the 8thAir Force. He asked Betty if she would marry him if he made it back from flying 26 missions over Germany. She said yes, and he came home and married her. Betty held many jobs over the years, but her main focus was her four children. She was a wonderful mother and wife, and her pride was being a homemaker and raising her family. Betty was a truly beautiful person, inside and out.
She left the earthly plane on Christmas Day, 2020.
She is preceded in death by her husband Julian R. Cassino, and their beloved daughter Holly Cassino. Betty is survived by her three sons, Lance Cassino, Lon (Denise) Cassino and Lynn Cassino. Her two grandchildren, Jason (Sarena) Cassino and Jill (Scott) Statter. and her four great grandchildren, Emma Cassino, Tobey Cassino, Harper Statter, and Mason Statter.
