On January 28, 2010, Ellen Feely Litzau took the next step on her journey.
The daughter of John and Nora Feely began her trip on November 16, 1921, in Cleveland, OH. She grew up in North Denver. After graduating from Saint Catherine's Grade School and Holy Family High School, she graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing. For more than thirty years, she cared for the sick with a passion and commitment that reflected her belief that she was ministering to Jesus' brother or sister.
She married the love of her life, Jerome Litzau, on November 22, 1944. They shared a life of incredible love, commitment, faith, caring and support. Jerome took the next step on his journey in 2003 and, no doubt was there to greet her when she heard the words, "Well done good and faithful servant. Welcome home."
Ellen's family includes daughter AnneMarie Carpenter and husband Dan, sons Al (Mary Ann), Mike (Mary Ellen), Father Rich OP, Rob (Lynne) and Jerry, Jr. (Ronda); grandchildren Lisa and Sara Carpenter, Mark (Andrea), Pat (Sam), Katrina, Steve (Kara), David (Tyra), Jake (Shynia), Beth, Tim (Kelli), Andrew (Mackenzie), and Mike and thirteen great grandchildren.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated, Tuesday, February 2 at 1 pm at St. Catherine's, 4200 Federal. Interment will be at Fort Logan.
