Elmer M. Stroh

Elmer Stroh, 84, died on Saturday, May 1st. He was born the third of seven children to the late Jake and Elsie Stroh on Oct. 23rd, 1936 in Tappan, ND, where he grew up on the farm. He joined the Air Force at the age of 18, and after his discharge returned to ND where he met and married Shirley Kolb on Oct. 3rd, 1964.

Elmer moved to Colorado in 1966 where he worked in the construction industry. Elmer broke ground on the first building in what would later become Snowmass-Aspen. He eventually started his own company doing exterior trim on houses in the Denver metro area. Elmer enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, fishing, and hunting, and cherished time with family playing cards and socializing.

Elmer is survived by his wife Shirley Stroh, his son David Stroh, his daughter and her husband Bonnie and Rick White, his granddaughter and her husband Heather and Eric Nupp, his granddaughter Amanda White, two of his brothers, Reuben and Leonard Stroh, and his sister Shirley Hust. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Elsie Stroh, his two brothers Darold and Howard Stroh, and his sister Betty Stroh.

Due to COVID restrictions and family wishes, no services will be held at this time. Elmer chose to be cremated and his ashes will remain at home with his wife Shirley.
