Elsie Peck Miller
June 6, 1915 - June 6, 2005
Elsie, born June 6, 1915 in Buffalo, New York, died from advanced congestive heart failure on her 90th birthday June 6, 2005. She had previously been in Swedish Hospital for treatment of CHF, and released to go home with Hospice Care on June 4, 2005. She had been residing with her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jamie Miller, after moving from her home in Thornton in February 2004. Prior to living in Thornton, she resided with her husband , John A. Miller, and family in Brighton until his death in 1967. Elsie was raised in the Roman Catholic faith, but her most recent Affirmation of Faith occurred earlier this year at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dalhart, Texas, where her son, John, is pastor.
Elsie enjoyed thrift store and garage sale shopping, gambling in Blackhawk, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two children, John A. Miller III and wife Anita of Boise City, OK and Jim Miller and wife Jamie of Englewood, CO. Grandchildren include Paul Miller of Thornton, CO; Elaine, Brenda, Brian and Alenda Miller; Amy Miller of Englewood, CO; Matthew and wife Eimi Miller of Alta Dena CA; Gretchen Miller of Atlanta, GA; Heather and husband Vitaliy Zelikov of Staten Island, NY; Aaron Miller of Garden City, KS; daughter and granddaughter-by-proxy, Jennifer and Jessica Ford of Centennial, CO; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 from 4-8 pm at Newcomer Family Funeral Home- West Metro Chapel. Graveside Services will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton on Thursday June 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Her family wishes to thank all those who made Elsie's life worth living so long, gave her gifts of their time and laughter, and loved her to the end of her life here on Earth.
