Elsie B. Shelbourn

February 21, 1927 — April 2, 2021

Elsie B. Shelbourn, age 94, of Englewood CO passed away April 2nd, 2021.
She was born February 21st, 1927 in Valentine NE to Dewey and Hyacinth (Hobson) Shelbourn.
She grew up one of six children near Valentine. Pauline Barnett was her BFF, they graduated from Valentine High School in 1945. Elsie taught elementary school, then followed Pauline to Denver in 1951, where they began their 28 yr. careers at US West Telephone Company. Retiring in 1979, they began their adventure of a life time traveling the world. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and baking. She always made cookies and candy for the holidays. She spent much time caring for her beautiful flowers at her home in Englewood CO and always had time and energy to make memories with her nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.
Pauline fell ill with cancer, but they finished their travel bucket
list, as Elsie cared for Pauline in her final days. As Elsie's health declined she moved to Peakveiw Assisted Living in Centennial CO.
She was survived by her brother Alvin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Dewey and Hyacinth, brothers Dean and Desmond (died at age 1) and sisters Flora Foster and Elmira Jeffers.
Service will be 11:00 AM June 12th, 2021 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Road 220 Valentine NE.
