Emily L. Smith

On April 27, 2010 Emily "Betty" Smith left this world after an arduous three month battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born December 1925 to Charles and MaryAnn Goddard in London, England, the fourth of their eight children. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Gordon Smith; children Chuck Smith, Cathy (David) Morin, and Chris (Marcie) Smith; grandchildren Heather (Richard) Kaiser, Crystal Smith, Melissa Smith, and Kyle Morin; step-grandchildren Jeremy Dingle and Amy Dingle; great-grandchildren Trinity, Kaylee, and Addy, and 5 siblings who still live in England.

She married Gordon in December of 1945 and after World War II relocated to Denver with him. Together they had 64 years of blessed marriage, where Emily was a tireless community advocate. She spent time volunteering for her children's school and local homeowner's association.

She will always be remembered as a true matriarch and amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She did the little things, like making you hot cocoa when you returned from school to brighten up your day. She will truly be missed by those who loved her; may she rest in peace.
