Ernesto Medina, 73, of Thornton, passed away August 29, 2019.
He was born November 7, 1945 in Balleza, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Lino and Maria (Varela) Medina. On June 9, 1968 he married Lupe Medina, in Denver, Colorado.
Ernesto (Ernie) arrived in Denver on Thanksgiving Day of 1967. He enjoyed going to Las Vegas to play in blackjack and poker tournaments and bought his lotto tickets weekly. His favorite foods were crab legs, prime rib sandwiches, deep-fried fish and tamales at Christmas. He considered EVERYONE his friend, wherever he went. If you so much as said hello to him, he considered you his friend. His favorite line, when introducing his wife, "She is my ex-girlfriend, now she is my wife." They were married for 51 years. In 1992, his heart was broken when his son died at the young age of 19. His heart began to mend as more of his grandchildren started to come into the world. He sincerely had a great love for ALL the people in his life! His wife, daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers, sisters, and countless friends. Ernesto truly was a kind, sweet, and gentle soul.
