Esther Urich

Esther Madaline Urich, 93, born Oct. 8, 1908 in Longmont and passed away Aug. 20,2002 at Lutheran Med. Center. Survived by Grandson Mark Allan Urich of Arvada, two brothers Henry (Lydia) Schmidt of Loveland and Elmer Schmidt of Arvada, numerous nephews and nieces. Husband George Urich, Jr. and son Allan Ray Urich, brothers Jacob and Sam Schmidt, sister Dorothy Knudson preceded her in death. She attended schools in Weld County and graduated from Johnstown High School. She operated a beauty shop in Golden. A long time Arvada resident, she was involved in volunteer work at Lutheran Med Center and with the Local Red Cross Chapters for many years. During 1970 and 1974, Esther was elected the Committeewoman of the Republican Party for Precinct #203 in the city of Arvada. The past few years she worked as a demonstrator at local grocery stores.
