Ethel was born on July 24, 1943 in St Louis, Missouri to the union of Robert M. Perry and Minnie U. Robertson Perry. She left this earth to join her heavenly father on November 7, 2020.
Ethel was educated in the East St. Louis Public School system. She graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in June of 1961. She attended Columbia University in Missouri and was 3 hours short of receiving her degree when illness caused her to drop out.
Ethel worked for the City Manager in East St. Louis before being hired by the Federal Government. She worked for the United States Army Equipment Mobility Center for 30 years. Although she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in her 20's, she did not allow her illness to stop her from enjoying life.
She never married by choice, because she stated the only reason to marry was to have children, and she never wanted to have any. With that being said, she loved spoiling her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed shopping and looked for sales continually, purchasing items she did not want or need, because someone would be able to use the items.
Those left behind to cherish and love her memory are three sisters, Thelma M. Wayne, Florissant, MO, Carol A. Perry, and Willie Esther Marcano of Denver, CO. She also leaves 4 nephews, 6 nieces and several grandnieces and nephews to remember her.
Her parents Robert and Minnie preceded her in death as well as two sisters, Martha Terrill, and Delores Turnbough and two brothers, Robert M. Jr., and James L. Perry.
