A LETTER FROM EUGENE'S WIFE, JOANN:
We met at the "Family Kitchen Restaurant", where I waited on him, as one of my favorite customers. We started dating in December of 1963 and were engaged on March 10, 1964. We were married May 3, 1964, in Commerce City, Colorado, at my church (1st Baptist Church).
God blssed us with three children: two sons (Brian & Kevin) and finally a daughter (Stacey).
Our children were all dedicated to our Lord by Reverend Emerson at Assembly of God Church, in Commerce City, Colorado.
Gene was always a man of few words. At times this was a little upsetting to me. Again over the years i became accustomed to his quiet nature.
Often at family gatherings, I would learn of his childhood friends little escapades! Taking hub-caps often topped their list.
During the first few months of marriage is when I learned his nickname (Eug). Now I also called him "Eug", as it was so fitting for him.
We purchased our first home in Commerce City, Colorado; then our second home in Northglenn, Colorado.
During our third year of marriage we were foster parents to many children(birth to eighteen years-old.)We continue to be blessed with some of our children still being part of our family.
Gene certainly was a loving husband and doting father to our children.
In March of 2001, we were blessed with our first grandchild (Nicolette). Yes it was just unbelievable. Then, in May of 2003 we again were blessed with our second grandchild (Presley).
So many memories are flooding in as I write this letter. It is too hard to have 46 years of marriage put into a couple of pages.

Sincerely,
JoAnn L. Stegeman
