Eugene "Gene" Earl Gingery, age 93, of Denver, CO passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He was born in rural Boulder, CO on June 22, 1929, the son of Lawrence Gingery and Mae (Park) Gingery.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Nettleton) Gingery in 1994 and his son, Michael Gingery in 2013.
Gene graduated from Loveland High School in 1947 where he met his first wife, Shirley. Gene graduated from Colorado A&M (now CSU) in Ft. Collins in May 1951. He was married to Shirley on June 10, 1951 in Loveland, Colorado.
Gene served in the United States Airforce and was stationed in Japan from 1954 to 1956.
Gene accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in 1968. He was a deacon, an elder and he served as general contractor at Harvey Park Christian Church when the congregation built a new sanctuary.
Gene was a civil engineer and worked for Cessna and other engineering firms until he started his own business, Ad Yard Sprinkling Company in 1970 where he worked until he retired in 2000.
Gene married Dee Naff on June 6, 1996 in Denver, Colorado and his family was increased with daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were an additional blessing in his life.
Gene's interests included sports, hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, gardening, the Boy Scouts, square dancing and traveling (including an Alaskan cruise, several trips to Hawaii and numerous trips to many states and national parks).
Survivors include his wife, Delores "Dee" Gingery; his brother, Lloyd (Patricia) Gingery, his cousins: Deryl Gingery & Delores (Harley) Cushman, his daughters: Michelle (Rick) Miller, Pam Hohnstein & Janolyn "Jan" (George) Brackett, his son: Lawrence "Larr" (Colleen) Gingery, his grandchildren: Wayne (Catie) Miller, Stephanie Lindegren (Mike Villers), Matthew Fishback, Tanya Fishback, Angela Fishback, Katee (Brian) Schoepp, James (Crissy) Brackett, David Brackett, Jonathan Brackett, Anjli (Logan) Ohs & Taran Gingery, his great grandchildren: JW Miller, Caleb Miller, Christopher Lindegren, Austin Lindegren, Sean Lindegren, Grant Garner, Kaylee Garner, Madison Garner, Ethan Schoepp, Alayna Schoepp, Lily Schoepp, Genevieve Brackett, Rosalyn Brackett & Eva Ohs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 8, 2022 at Harvey Park Christian Church (3401 S. Lowell Blvd. Denver, CO). Viewing for the public will be from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Newcomer West Metro Chapel (901 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO. Private family interment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
