Eugene Angelo Texas, 79, of Federal Heights, CO, died December 24, 2022 following a three-year battle with cancer.
He was born on February 17, 1943 in Berkeley, CA, a son of the late Eva Lee Fera Texas. Eugene had three brothers, the late Rodni Texas, the late Fred Texas, and Joseph Price.
A versatile actor, Eugene was known for his tenor voice, charismatic stage presence, comedic timing, and exuberant dance style. He began his career with the Colorado Concert Ballet, making several return appearances. Following short engagements in Las Vegas and Paris, Eugene found his niche in dinner theater. For several decades he toured the US performing in such dinner theater classics as Tom Jones, Once Upon a Mattress, Annie Get Your Gun, and Sound of Music. In later life, Eugene managed an apartment complex in east Denver and enjoyed dabbling in antiques at the Brass Armadillo. Following the move to Federal Heights, Eugene was encouraged and supported by his cousin and friend Domenic Lusso.
Eugene was a cantor or member of the choir at each of the parishes he attended. He supported several Catholic charities and provided monthly support to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for over two decades.
Eugene is survived by his sister-In-law, Nittaya Texas and nephew Bob Texas, brother Joseph Price and his wife Sheri and their children Kelcey Ellis (Alec), Kiley Hillner (David), & Nicki Nickerson (Ben). He is also survived by 5 grand nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Services will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church (3141 W. 96th Ave., Westminster, Co 80031) on Friday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
