F. Winona "Nona" (Wilker) Olsen, 85, of Denver, passed away November 28, 2010.
Born June 25, 1925, in Rocky Ford and graduated from Sugar City (Colo.) High School, she married the love of her life, Marvin Olsen, on July 1, 1945. She worked for years in the House Enrolling Room at the Colorado State Capitol, retiring as chief enrolling clerk in 1996. She was well respected by lawmakers, working on several successful political campaigns.
An active volunteer in her church, she loved animals and, above all, loved children. She is survived by her husband, her sons Kent (Shauna), Keith (Paula), and Eric (Suzann) Olsen; her grandchildren Kristofor, Alexander (Ashley), Nikolaus (Kim) Olsen, Amanda (Christopher) Hill, Whitney, Hunter, Margaret, and Colter Olsen; four great-grandchildren; her sisters of Verna Dewar, and Donna (Jerry) Miskiewicz; her brother James Wilker; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Pansy Wilker, and siblings, Roberta Wilker, Pansy Hays, Charles Wilker, Evelyn Steckman, and Doris Barnes.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 2290 S. Clayton St., Denver. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. the same day at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church.
