Famatta C. Nakashima was born July 1, 1956, on an Air Force base in South Ruislip, England to Robert G. and Rosalie T, Gaffney, the youngest of four children.
Famatta met Dennis Nakashima Sr. and the two were married on October 21, 1976; this marriage produced three children Mandi, Dennis Jr, and Nicholas.
Famatta was a unique and free-spirited person who made friends wherever she went. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She loved playing cards, bingo, music, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter.
The sun set on this beautiful life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 when God wrapped his arms around Famatta and she is now able to rest peacefully.
She is preceded in death by her Father Robert Garcia Gaffney, Mother Rosalie T. Gaffney, Husband Dennis Clark Nakashima Sr., Sister Rosalyn L Gaffney, and Brother Garcia Robert Gaffney.
She leaves to cherish fond memories three children, Mandi (Christopher) Bishop, DJ (Christy) Nakashima and Nicholas (Samantha) Nakashima; Sister Deborah L Gaffney; grandchildren Brandon, Tyree, Dontay, and Shawn and great-grandchildren Ava and Ahlaya, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
