FAUSTINA CARMEN BENNETT
Born: May 31, 1905 Buffalo, Oklahoma
Passed on: May 26, 2007 Lakewood, Colorado
Faustina was a child of Arthur and Maude Colvin. She was the oldest of 4 children: 2 boys (her brothers Bus and Don) and 2 girls (her sister Alice).
Her two brothers preceded her in death and Alice is still living at Mapleton Care Center, where Faustina was also a resident. Faustina is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Biggs, of Lakewood, Colorado; her grandchildren, Steve Biggs (wife Lola), of Aurora, Colorado, Scott Biggs, of Lakewood, Colorado and Kristen Woodard (husband Kevin), of Littleton, Colorado; her great-granddaughter, Stephanie Bailey (husband Brad), of Buena Vista, Colorado and her great-great grandchildren, Zachary and Samantha, both of Buena Vista, Colorado.
Faustina ran the dress shop in Las Animas, Colorado for many years and also drove a horse and buggy to a one room school house to teach grades 1 through 8.
Faustina enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Her gardens were colorful and fragrant. She had a real knack for creating a joyful and soothing atmosphere for many of us to enjoy and live in. Most everything she cooked and baked in the kitchen were from scratch. Her brownines and cinnamon rolls are almost legendary! She made it very hard to keep on any sort of weight control program.
Faustina could also knit and crochet. She made complete outfits for her children and grandchildren throughout her entire adult life. She also made clothes for all of Kristen's dolls and coverings for all the furniture in the doll house.
Most of all, Faustina was a happy and caring soul who will be sorely missed by those who loved her, but a wonderful addition to the family she has rejoined in heaven.
God bless you, and we'll see you again someday.
Your loving family.
