Faye L. Melhauser

September 7, 1929 — May 20, 2021

At the age of 91, Faye Lorene (Huber) Melhauser has departed this life and now rejoins the love of her life, Dick. While she no longer suffers pain or worry or loneliness, her family and friends feel her loss immensely.

Faye L. Huber was born in Belleville, IL September 7, 1929. In June of 1949, she married Richard F. Melhauser, and their son, Michael Jeffrey, was born in 1950.

As a young woman, Faye thrived in retail fashion sales, a profession that would shape her keen personal style for the rest of her life. Faye was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dogs, entertaining, Christmas, Oktoberfest, the Home Shopping Channel and was a voracious reader. Her generosity was boundless, and Faye loved to laugh.

Faye and Dick spent 61 wonderful and wonder-filled years together, raising and nurturing their beloved son, loving and supporting their grandsons, cultivating life-long friendships, and traveling to all corners of the globe where they explored six continents together. Faye and Dick retired initially in AZ, but ultimately settled in Littleton, CO.

To her son Michael (wife, Monique Melhauser), Mom was a devoted, supportive and unconditionally loving mother. Mike will miss dancing and singing Eine Prosit at Oktoberfest with her each year. He will forever miss her unwavering support throughout all of life's challenges, and he will simply miss being able to phone her and hear her cheerful, "Oh, Hi, Mike!"

Her grandsons Jeffrey Melhauser (wife, Julia Melhauser) and twins Christopher & Preston Melhauser have many fond memories of their Nanny. They recall laughter-filled card games, after-school baked treats, golf-cart driving lessons and joyous Christmases together. Faye's grandsons could count on their Nanny and Papa to be at graduations and special events celebrating their life accomplishments.

To her friends, Faye could be counted on to host sumptuous parties and lively games of bridge. And, in their sorrow, some friends worry that certain retail clothing stores may go out of business without Faye's patronage.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lena and her sister, Jane.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dumb Friends League animal rescue or the Humane Society can be made in memory of Faye Melhauser.

A private family interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
