Fernando Rivera

Fernando Rivera, born March 10, 1924 in Costilla, New Mexico. Passed away July 9, 2005. Son of Jose Ruben Rivera and Pasqualita Esqabedo. Proceded in death by parents, sisters Frances Maes, Laura Lovato; brother Floyd Rivera and granddaughter Kelly Rivera. Survived by wife Lena Rivera; children Leroy Rivera, Ruben Rivera, Patricia (Gerald) Byerly, Reggie Rivera, Ernest (Donna) Rivera, Ronald (Linda) Rivera, Donald (Elaine) Rivera, Mary Ann (Efrain) Rodriquez, Virginia (Anthony) Trujillo and their mother Emma Quintana; step children Mary (Andy) Vigil, Theresa Kacir, Alfonso (Gloria) Lucero, Joseph Lucero, Kathy (Eddie) Lucero and Lewis Lucero; 45 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; brother Richard Rivera; and many other family and friends. Fernando served in the Phillipines, was a WWII veteran, retired from Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield, Utah, where he worked in Civil Service. He enjoyed his hobbies which included gardening, fishing, music and gambling. Visitation Thursday 4-8PM with Rosary at 7PM at Newcomer West Chapel, 901 S. Sheridan, Lakewood. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10AM St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 6th and Galapago, Denver. Burial will follow mass at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Sheridan and Hampden, at 12:00PM Area "B".
