Frances M. Allen of Denver died January 23, 2018. She was born to John and Norine Bierd, September 18, 1922 in Broomfield, Co. Frances graduated from Union High School, Westminster, CO in 1941. She married David (D.D.) Allen in September, 1951.
Frances and her husband spent time traveling with friends and being involved in Shriner's activities.
She retired at the age of 83. After retirement, she occupied her time doing arts and crafts and had some special collections of Disney bells, Norman Rockwell Plates and her favorite was a teddy bear collection numbering about 300. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and she continued to be in contact with friends and former co-workers. Frances lived independently at Windsor Gardens in Denver until age 93 at which time she needed assistance so was moved to a group home.
She is survived by daughter, Marilynn Bell (Willard) of Evergreen, CO and granddaughter Happy Bell of Grapevine, TX and great-granddaughter Riley Spinner of Grapevine, TX. Also survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband David Allen in May, 1979.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Suncrest Hospice, 5700 S. Quebec Street, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
A visitation will be held at Newcomer West Metro Chapel at 10AM on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Services will be held at Newcomer West Metro Chapel at 11AM on Thursday, February 1, 2018 followed by burial at Highland Cemetery.
