Frances Marie Tafoya, 81, of Denver died Thursday. She was born June 27, 1941, in Denver, Colorado. She married the late Lee Anthony Tafoya in Denver. They were married for 35 years. Frances worked for Denver Water as a maintenance supervisor until she retired in 2006. She loved to dance, read thriller novels, cooking big family meals and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter, Bernadette. Prior to the last few years, Frances loved taking her best friend canine and companion, Hope, for walks around O'Kane park. Frances is preceded in death by her mother, Lena Duran, brothers, Ruben Muniz, Chucky Muniz and her son, Abraham Sanchez. She is survived by sisters Henrietta Torres, Joann Muniz and by her children, Lena Lee Sanchez, Margaret Tafoya, Antoinette (Ruben) Chavez, Rita Tafoya-Ruiz (Vic) and son Lee Tafoya (Madison); grandchildren Dr. Deanna Bajala (Julleon), Janella Quintero, Victor Ruiz, Olivia Tafoya, Jana Chavez; Megan Sanchez, and Bridgette Crawford; nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held January 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226
