Frank Douglas Holford Jr. graced this world with his amazing soul on March 27th, 1929 in Denver, Colorado. He was the only son of Frank Sr. and Pauline Holford (Swedberg).
He attended Denver public elementary schools and graduated from Denver North High School in 1947. He joined the United States Naval Reserve in 1948 and was Honorably Discharged in 1953.
In his teenage years he worked at Harris & Williams Frozen Food Locker, Montgomery Wards and Gates Rubber Company. He then started his first career in Finance at the Household Finance Company in 1951, then Aetna Finance from 1952-1958 as an Outside Sales Rep, Account Manager and then Manager. He was with the Security Audit Company from 1959-1960 as Manager and then McMurtry Manufacturing Company from 1961-1965 as Credit Manager. In 1965 he moved to a second career at the Coors Brewing Company running Filler’s, Labeler’s, Packers, etc. – lots of high-speed equipment. He was extremely happy to retire in 1989 and then enjoyed 35 Golden years of relaxing, fishing, camping and traveling all over the world. He especially enjoyed the annual fishing trips with Gordon, Rob, Earl and many others to lakes in his beloved Colorado mountains. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos since their inception in 1960 and thoroughly reveled in their Super Bowl victories.
Through his involvement in the Cathedral Club of the Basilica Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Denver he met Theresa Perret who made his heart leap. The two were married in the Cathedral June 15, 1963. Together they were blessed with two sons, Fred David in 1964 and Raymond Donald in 1966.
Frank had a wonderful sense of humor, a very kind and generous heart and enriched the lives of everyone he met, he will be forever remembered as “Straight Arrow” due to his self-proclaimed inability to BS.
