Frank Remsik, 94, of Longmont, Colorado, previously residing in Necedah, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at home after a brief illness. Frank was born at home in Moquah, Wisconsin on June 9th, 1916 to Andrew and Agnes (Haljak) Remsik. He was the youngest of eight children.
He graduated high school in 1932 and went on to work in the Civilian Conservation Corps program. He married Avis Margaret Sunday on September 15, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois and had four children. The couple lived several years in Chicago before moving back to the Mauston area. They later lived in Montana and Oregon for several years before returning to the Necedah area in 1981. He traveled the country for his work as a master electrician and retired in 1994.
Frank is survived by two sons, Francis and Art (Becky); his daughter, Judi (John) Atkins; and his daughter-in-law Maria; numerous nieces and nephews; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Avis; his parents; all of his brothers and sisters; his son Ronald; and his daughter-in-law Betty (Brown) Remsik.
He will be cremated in Colorado, and his ashes will be buried next to his wife in the Evergreen Cemetery in Rural Mauston at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local food banks, grade school libraries, and animal rescue shelters.
