Frederic Vaughn Roe left his earthly home on May 29th, 2008. He was born on January 4, 1915 to Thomas and Ruby Roe in Derby, Iowa. Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Helen Ridinger Roe of Byers, Colorado. He is survived by his wife Jane K. Roe of Arvada, stepson Richard Oster and daughter-in-law Deanna Oster of Littleton also daughters Delores McCurdy and husband Robert of Port Angeles Washington, and Vaughnie Montoya and husband Gilbert of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tina Lucid, Jonna Thomas and Melissa Castelanos grandaughters of Las Vegas, Nevada, Marc Gisi and wife Kim, Michael Gisi and wife Megan, Chase Bustos and Austen Bustos, grandsons of Las Vegas, Nevada and 3 great grandchildren.
Fred joined the United States Air Force and served in Europe, Japan and Alaska. He retired from military service in July 1971 at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada. He then went on to work for the Bureau of Reclamation at Hoover Dam in Boulder City, Nevada.
He has been a resident of Colorado since 1984 where he spent his retirement years traveling and enjoying the Rocky Mountains. He is survived by 2 brothers and a sister. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetary. It is requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Catholic Charities or charity of choice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at the Shrine of Saint Ann Catholic Church, 7555 Grant Place, Arvada, CO 80002. Interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A" at 12:00 PM, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80235.
