Frederick B. Maas Jr.

Frederick Bauder Maas Jr. was born August 4, 1921 in Golden, CO to Frederick B. Maas and Gladys Jones of Golden. Mr. Maas passed away on Nov. 4, 2006. He was married to the former Agnes Churchey, she preceded him in death in 1996.

Mr. Maas was a lifelong Golden resident. He attended Golden schools. He served during WW II in the Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific Theater. He retired from the United States Geological Survey. He was an expert in building and repairing surveying equipment.

He is survived by his son, Fred B. Maas III. of W. Lafayette, IN., his daughters, Kathleen Shears of Arvada and Patricia Hollomon of Topeka, KS., a brother Maurice Maas of Golden, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 PM on Sunday, Nov. 12th, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home-West Chapel. Graveside services will be Monday, Nov. 13th, at 11 AM in The Golden Cemetery.
