Gary James "Goodheart" Morrison, 67, of Aurora, CO left us on April 27, 2019.
Gary was born to the late Bobby Morrison and the late Faye Bennett-Morrison in Sacramento, CA on September 23, 1951. After several moves growing up Gary made his home in the Denver area for over 50 years. He married the love of his life, Lisa Wilhelm-Morrison, on June 7, 1981. He was overjoyed by the birth of his two sons, Michael then Eric. When his granddaughter, Cheyenne, was born she was the sunshine of his life. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his grandson, Lucas, who is due in the next couple of weeks.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Duane Morrison, sisters JoAnn Parker and Rebecca Harrison. Gary is survived by his older brother Bobby Morrison (Ly) and his younger sister Judy Ervin (Dale), his loving wife Lisa, his son Michael (Tina) and Eric (Becca), his granddaughter Cheyenne, and his soon to arrive grandson Lucas. He was close to his brother-in-law Kurt Wilhelm (Jodi) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved deeply. Family was the single most important thing to Gary. He was a man of few words but he loved with all his heart, including his cats,Briscoe and Maynard, and his dog, Bear.
Gary was an avid reader and had a very extensive Sci-Fi library. He worked as a comptroller for Balmar Management Group for over 25 years. He was passionate about education. Gary was a life long learner earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. He was a regular volunteer in his neighborhood school district.
Gary was an accomplished musician, playing the pedal steel guitar since age the age of 10. He performed with various bands throughout the years, most recently with The Dick Frost Band, who were a second family to him.
The family is hosting a celebration of Gary's life on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 2:00-6:00 PM at 5271 S. Yampa St. Centennial, CO 80015.
