George Ellis Chalk, 83, of Aurora, passed away Monday September 12, 2022.
He was born to the late Raymond Ellis and Myrtle Dale Chalk, July 2, 1939, in Weed, NM. George graduated from Floyd High School in 1957. He married Marian Frances (Rolston) Chalk in 1960, and lived together in Portales, NM., before relocating to Aurora in 1981.
George was in the Propane business most of his adult life after he graduated high school, until he purchased his own propane company is 1986, that he ran until he was semi-retired. He was an active member of the Propane Gas Association for many years and held many titles.
George loved to travel with Frances while he was able to, he also loved country music and attended Alan Jackson concerts while he was able to.
George is survived by wife Frances (Rolston) Chalk. His two children: Phyllis Jean (Rolston) Haney and family of Denver; Anthony Ray (Tony) Chalk and family of Denver. He is also survived by two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and his sister Elta Jeffries and husband of Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Myrtle Chalk, two infant sons, a sister Sammie Jo McCain and a infant great-granddaughter.
