George Gerster

George Charles Gerster Jr, age 87, of Aurora, CO passed away peacefully on August 18, 2022. He was born in Buffalo, NY on September 23, 1934.
George served his country and community for 50 years. He joined the Air Force in 1953 where he served 20 years, served in the Civil Service DOD (Department of Defense) for 20 years. After his government service he worked for Aurora Public Schools as a bus driver for 10 years. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, RV traveling and spending time with family and friends.
George is survived by his loving wife Thelma (Rosenbaum) whom he married in 1956, daughter Susan, sons Richard (Pam) and Robert (Carey), 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents (George Sr and Delilah) and brother Richard (Dick).

A viewing will be held from 5-7pm Monday, September 5, 2022 at at Newcomer Funeral Home: 190 Potomac Street, Aurora, CO 80011.
The burial service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 6. Please arrive by 10 am at staging area "C." Service will begin at 10:15 a.m. Enter the cemetery using the Funeral Entrance off of Sheridan Blvd.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm at the home he shared with Thelma
