Sadly on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2019, George Lucero, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 92 in Denver, Colorado.

George was born on July 16th, 1927 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Tobias and Florencia Lucero. George would go on to meet and marry the love of his life for over 60 years, Olita Valdez. After moving to Denver ,Colorado, George began a series of jobs that would carry him through his working days. Among those jobs and trades, he worked for many years at Samsonite. After about 10 years George then began schooling to become a master of Masonry which led him to the construction and brickwork of several commercial buildings scattered about the city of Denver for over a decade.

In 1978 George, and Olita decided their life wasn't complete and so they would together go to on to adopt a 4 year old girl they named Myra Olita Lucero.

To round out his working life, George, then through hard work and dedication, earned the wonderful title of Manger of Grounds at Fort Logan Hospital in Denver from where he would eventually retire in 1992 after over 15 years with the company.

George was by virtue, truly a man of nature. This was reflected in his loving for planting and tending his own backyard garden. He was also a very loving, doting father to his only daughter Myra.

George found happiness in bringing joy to all he could throughout his life. His kindness above all else defined him. All he ever asked for in return was that his kindness be paid forward without condition to anyone in need. George was also known for his infectious smile, warm kind words, and for always seeing the best in all who knew him and in those he had the pleasure of meeting.

George was preceded in death by his wife Olita V. Lucero, his father and mother Tobias and Florecia Lucero. His brothers Jose and Eliseo Lucero, and his sister Margaret Trujillo.

He is survived by his only daughter Myra Edelen, his two grandchildren Jordan and Tyler Ehler, his two sisters Mary Coca and Francis Trujillo, his two brothers Toby and Gilbert Lucero as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
