George "Rusty" Tompkins of Colorado Springs, passed away suddenly on August 1, 2020. He is predeceased by his parents George G. Tompkins and Lillian M. Millard and his beloved late wife Elizabeth A. Tompkins.
Born on May 4,1956 in Cohoes, NY, he spent much of his young life in upstate New York before joining the Army to serve his country at age 17. George lived an exciting life, traveling frequently all over the country on his numerous Harley Davidson motorcycles over the years. His love of riding and tattooing continued through his entire life, with his talents and personality leaving permanent imprints on everyone he met in his life. Known for his bright Red hair, beard, and boisterous nature he was unforgettable to his friends, family, and motorcycle brotherhood.
He is survived by his children: George Harley Tompkins of Texas, Jennifer L. Tompkins of New York, and Cye Jamerson of Colorado. He is also survived by his sisters Catherine Tompkins of Florida, Valerie Halpin of New York, and brother Edward Millard of New York. He will also be remembered by his six grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous cousins, nieces/nephews, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks he be remembered in fond memories and stories whenever a motorcycle is heard roaring in the distance.
