Gerald E. King, 87, passed away peacefully at home on September, 6, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 27, 1918 in Malone, NY to Alpha and Elisabeth (Benoit) Roy. Shortly after his birth, his parents moved back to the area of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he lived until he joined the U.S. Civilian Conservation Corps. He enlisted and entered the U.S. Army in November, 1942. He retired after 27 years of service, having served two terms in Germany: 1946-1949 and 1957-1960, and in Korea-Japan 1965-1966; also 11 years in Civil Service at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. He married Lenore Marie Dittmar on February 3, 1946 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, three sons and their wives; Maurice and Carla, Ellis and Linda, Randall and Joni, his grandchildren; Eric and his wife Ann, Vivian, Arin, Jessie, Lauren and Victoria, great-granddaughter Alexis, and one brother Roger in Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers, and grandson Neal. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 4-8pm at Newcomer Family East Metro Chapel. Services will be held Friday, 2pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora. Interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
