Gertrude "Lyn" Alfriend Kimbrough, 90, of Denver, Colorado passed away on April 24, 2020. She was born on October 28, 1929 to John and Eliza Alfriend of Charles Town, West Virginia.
Following her graduation from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, Lyn moved to Washington D.C. where she was a clerical worker. She married Robert Alexander Kimbrough III in 1953, and spent the next 20 years in Boston, MA and Madison, WI as a homemaker and devoted mother of three. Later, she moved to Denver, CO where she worked as a legal secretary for many years before retiring from Holland & Hart.
An avid skier, she made weekly treks to Winter Park/Mary Jane well into her 70s. She enjoyed traveling on group ski trips throughout the Rocky Mountain West as well as cruising the Mediterranean. Lyn took pride in her beautiful flower gardens and her grandchildren. She was a Denver Broncos fan and she was especially fond of cats.
Lyn was preceded in death by her parents John and Eliza Alfriend, her brother Rev. John Alfriend, and her beloved daughter Lisa Kimbrough Pradhan.
She is survived by her sister Jenny Bryan of Pennsylvania, her two sons, Bob Kimbrough and his wife Deb of Lakewood, CO, John Kimbrough and his wife Mary Ann of Denver, CO, and six grandchildren, Rajen Pradhan, Derek Kimbrough, Zach Kimbrough and his wife Jordi, Alissa Kimbrough, Asha Pradhan, and Michaela Kimbrough.
