Gilbert Martinez 62 of Thornton, CO, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Denver CO.
Gilbert was born July 8, 1945 in Torrington WY to Lauriano and Tiofilita Martinez. He grew up in Platteville and Commerce City CO, graduating from Adam City High School in 1963. He served is country with pride in Vietnam from 1965-1967.
In 1976, he became a Electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 68. Gilbert loved making flies for fly fishing, gardening, reading, watching educational programs, and he loved the Minnesota Vikings.
He is survived by Ida Martinez, Geno, Kelli, Jordyn, and Tristin Martinez, Sal, Marissa, and Ryan Gracia, Oralia Gracia-Alinea, Monique, Tyger, Sole', Ryan, Mia, and Abby. Sisters Alice Rosales, Dee Grant, Vicki Aragon, Mary Rosales and Linda Martinez, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents Lauriano and Tiofilita Martinez, Sister Lola, and Brothers, Benses, Nick, Al, Dennis, and Max.

Service and viewing will be held Wednesday May 21, 2008 at the Newcomers Family Funeral Home, Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and Service at 11:00 AM. Followed by a Burial at Ft. Logan Cemetery.
