Gilberto Marcha, Sr., 80, of Centennial, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020.
He was born to Amador and Maria Marcha in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Gilbert graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1958 and received a B.A. in Civil Engineering from University of Colorado in 1978.
In 1961 he joined the army for a term as a map compiler. This laid the groundwork for his pursuit of a civil engineering degree, during which time he held a full-time job and a part time job so he could attend school in the evenings while supporting his family. He worked for the Colorado Department of Highways until he retired after 32 years.
Following his retirement, he devoted all his love and energy to his beautiful wife Esther, until her death in 2016. They were married for 53 years.
He was a strong, honest man, with great compassion, who always put family first. He passed along these values to his children, Gilberto Marcha Jr. of Cypress, Texas, and Lillian Bourne of Aurora, Colorado, who continue his legacy by passing these values on to his grandchildren and great grandchild.
Mass will be live-streamed at
