Gillian Mary Spackman

October 31, 1942 — December 6, 2023

Our loving mother Gillian Mary Spackman (Owen), 81, of Aurora, CO passed away December 6, 2023. Gillian was preceded in death by her husband Henry Robert Spackman and daughter Amanda Spackman. Additionally, she is survived by her son David Spackman (spouse Gaylene Spackman); daughter Debra Roning (spouse Douglas Roning); granddaughter Sophia Roning; brother Geoffrey Owen.

Gillian was born in St. Helens, England to Stanley and Amelia Owen. After spending the first part of her life in England, Gillian and Henry immigrated with their family to Aurora, CO in 1980.

Prior to retirement, Gillian had a full career with Adams County Housing. Once retired, herself and Henry spent many a winter in sunny Yuma, Arizona. Yuma was her happy place, every August her excitement would build with the planning of heading down before the snow began. She loved telling people she was a snowbird.

Gillian loved history and sharing her passion with her granddaughter Sophia. They took many trips together, there wasn't a museum or historical site that they wouldn't pass up. They shared a special bond like no other.

Gillian was a true renaissance woman with vast knowledge on all subjects. She always said it was her British education, but it came naturally to her. She delighted in fun and new life experiences, was never afraid to speak her mind and remained her cheeky self, making us laugh until the end.

We are all truly blessed to have had Gillian in our lives.

Gillian will be laid to rest at St. Chad's Church, Kirkby Liverpool.
