Gritley Myramae Dunstan was born in Burnt Savannah, St. Elizabeth Jamaica, West Indies on March 6, 1945 to Cleveland Dunstan and Adeline Samuels (Rickets). She resided in Burnt Savannah where she attended the Burnt Savannah Primary School. She then moved to Kingston and later migrated to the United States in 1976 where she lived in several different states which includes New York, Florida and Colorado. She worked at Bloomingdales in New York for over 20 years and took great pride in her job. Her pride and joy is her son Gary and her journey to the United States was mainly due to having her son achieve his highest potential. She was full of life and laughter. When you were in her presence, there was never a dull moment. She was a stickler for doing things well, and when she gives, it was of the highest quality. She was also not one to back down easily once she makes a decision.
She loved to indulge in a number of different hobbies such as dancing, sewing, cooking and eating (even though we don't know where the food went). She was a great seamstress, who often went to stores, drew what she saw, returned home and made it. She even made a pantsuit for her son Gary.
Her mother, father and one nephew Ian, preceded her in death. She spent her last years in Colorado with her son Gary, his family and her beloved caregiver, Helen Nicholson.
She is survived her son, Gary Tomlinson; two grandsons, Nehemiah and Jordan; her sisters, Cynthia Beverly, June, Joanne, Hilma, Joyce and Sonia; nepehws, Kenny, Jeffrey and Jermaine; nieces, Monique, Erica, Janay and Chyna and many other relatives and friends.
Grittley Myramae Dunstan will be greatly missed especially by her son Gary and all that knew and loved her.
