Born into new Life--HAMOR BROWN
I believe in the sun even if it isn't shining.
I believe in love even when I am alone.
I believe in God even when He is silent.

Childhood Friends: Paul Maule of Santa Monica, CA, Bill Fergussen of Grove City, OH, Dick Hughes (deceased) of Grove City, OH.
MARRIAGE
Married Mary Annetta Byrd in Grove City, OH on October 26, 1951 after "dating" Mary and both of her little sisters, Iva and Roberta. Divorced in 2010 after 59 years of marriage. Hamor always considered Mary's family his own and they have honored him as their brother. Hamor loved his family and made no distinction as to in-laws.
MILITARY SERVICE
Enlisted in the U S Navy near the end of WWII. His duty stations included: Lake Erie, NY, Bainbridge, WA, Guam, Hawaii, and Japan. Hamor was proud to serve his country. He enlisted on the same day as his Uncle Paul Tilley and his cousin, Jack Reber. They all went their separate ways, and one day his cousin went to the mess hall in Hawaii, and Hamor ran the mess. Their Uncle was serving in the mountainous region of Hawaii, so they had a joyous reunion so happy that all had survived the unknown.
Hamor was extended an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Boatswain Mate 3. He was proud to know he would be buried at Fort Logan Military Cemetery with Military honors, along with his father, a WWI veteran.
One of Hamor's most valued possessions is a picture taken at the graduation of his Grandson, PFC Daniel Perry from boot camp. The picture has Dan in the middle of his father, David Perry and Hamor. Dan is shaking hands with both his elders at the same time. He cried proud tears every time he shared this picture with friends and family.
Hamor went to the World War II memorial in October of 2008. He was honored by this experience, mentioning that people in airports stopped and clapped to honor flight attendees and that, for him, this acknowledgement of his service was cherished. We are so grateful that he was well enough to go to Washington DC to visit the Lincoln Memorial, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Vietnam Memorial, Korean Memorial and the Pentagon, Washington Memorial and two Naval Museums during the two day trip to DC. He was also privileged to meet Senator Bob Dole, who was a strong advocate of the building of the World War II Memorial.
We are honored to have the men in this family who so bravely served their country for no other reason than it was the right thing to do. Hamor Cecil Brown, US Army WWI, Hamor Hugh Brown, US Navy WWII, Dennis Dillon Byrd, US Navy WWII, Harold Eugene Willis, US Navy Pearl Harbor, David Alan Perry, US Marine Corps Vietnam, Michael Allan Costello, Sr. US Air Force Vietnam, PFC Daniel Elliot Brown Perry, US Army, currently stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany and to Deploy to Afghanistan summer of 2011.

Hamor's last wish was that through his death, someone might come to know Jesus as his or her Savior. If you have any question in your mind about eternal issues, please contact any family member or Pastor Dawson. Hamor's confident faith helped him to live, and die, without fear for his future.

Life is a Vapor
by Mabel Byrd Barboe
(Hamor's Mother-in-Law)
Life is but a vapor,
One short breath and I'll be gone,
The world may soon forget
I walked this way.
The precious Love of Jesus
Will go with me on and on,
And I will dwell with Him
Forever along the way.
Goodbye my Brother
Roberta Hogan
(Hamor's Sister-in-Law)
He stood tall and proud,
And was Always kind
He believed in the Lord
And lived by his word.
He always had a smile
He seldom frowned.
He was there with a hug
Whenever you were down.
He loved family and friends
And always offered a helping hand.
He will be missed so much,
But remembered always as a husband,
Father, brother and friend.
