Harlan Seibel
February 13, 1936 — March 13, 2025
Harlan James Seibel passed from this earth to his eternal home on March 13, 2025, in Englewood, CO at the age of 89. Harlan was born February 13, 1936, in McClusky, North Dakota, to Herbert and Bertha Seibel and was the second of five children. From a young age, the church and following Christ was taught in his home. As a boy he prayed to receive Christ as his savior one night at an evangelistic campaign. Harlan graduated from McClusky High School where he was heavily involved in athletics. He went on to Tabor College in Wichita, KS where he studied Accounting and played basketball. Following this, he served at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, CO and it was while he was in Denver that he met the love of his life, Marlene Rudiger. The two were married on October 11, 1958.
Harlan was the General Manager for Mor-Value stamp company for whom he worked for nearly three decades. He was also an accountant and, along with other family members, owned and operated Das Essen Haus, a German restaurant in Lakewood, CO. Harlan and Marlene served for decades with Gideons International and in leadership in local Mennonite Brethren churches. In addition, Harlan loved singing with the Higher Ground Men’s Chorus. Compelled by love and a desire to see as many people come to know his Savior as he did, Harlan would share the good news of Christ’s saving work with all who would listen.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene, son Dwight (Lynn) of Denver, CO and sister Rowena Plett of Lincolnville, KS along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Joel, brother Ronald, sisters Darlene Timnick and Rosann Priel, brothers-in-law Victor Timnick, Jerry Plett, and Warren Priel and nephew Bruce Timnick.
