Helen Marie McGraw was born on November 14th, 1958 to Ward and Vivien McGraw in Denver. She was welcomed home by her six sisters.
She was a cowgirl from the get go. She was given her first horse at age 11 and began winning competitions at 14.
She was raised in north Denver and attended Denver Lutheran High School graduating in 1976. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse, following in her mother's footsteps. Helen cared for patients at Denver area nursing homes and recently at Kaiser's Longmont pediatric clinic.
Helen eagerly anticipated the birth of her daughter Sara born on February 21, 1992. Her life changed and revolved around Sara from then on. She passes her love of horses on to her daughter and bought Sara her first horse when she was nine. Sara is attending Northeastern Junior College in the equine management program because of the love and dedication of her mother.
Helen met Steve Hampton in May 2004 and after his children advised him to not let her get away, they followed their love at first sight and were married on 7-7-7. Helen embraced Steve's love of modified coupe racing and helped Steve rekindle a love of life.
She was called home to heaven on November 4, 2010.
She richly blessed the lives of all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Steve Hampton, her daughter Sara Bale, her sisters; Kathy Morway, Jeannie Seeley, Chris Ours, Mary Finney, Lucy Ebersole and Emily Cole, stepson Scot Hampton, stepdaughter Stephanie Goodman, granddaughter Irene Goodman, grandson Grady Goodman, and twelve nieces and nephews.
She is gone from us too soon.
