Helen E. Chandler, 97, of Longmont, formerly of Thornton, passed away November 1, 2017.
She was born May 4, 1920 in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of D. Russell and Kathleen (Hall) Patterson. She grew up in Rouse, Colorado. The family later moved to Longmont where was a graduate of Longmont High School.
On November 6, 1938, she married Verdon Chandler.
Helen was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver for many years.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She would gather with her high school friends for decades and called themselves "The Club." Helen loved to travel with her husband, Verdon and her sister Pauline and brother-in-law Leonard, traveling across the US and Mexico many times. Helen will be remembered as an exceptional grandmother.
Helen is survived by son, Jon A. (Patricia) Chandler; five grandchildren, Matthew D. (Kellie) Chandler, Benjamin J. (Savannah) Chandler, Tyler J. (Amanda) Chandler, Toni (Wayne) Starner and Matthew (Tonja) Esquibel; Daughter-In-Law, Eleanor Chandler; Eight Great-Grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Madelyn Brown, Colton Chandler, Braden Chandler, Reagan Chandler, Morgan Starner, Ashley (Seth) Adrian and Jackie Esquibel; two great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte Adrian and Penelope Adrian; sister, MaryLu Cook; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Verdon A. Chandler; son, David R. Chandler; father, D. Russell Patterson; mother, Kathleen Patterson and three sisters, Pauline Flynn, Kathleen Waller and Carol Bluebaugh.
